Become a Virginia DMV licensed driving instructor. Work part-time helping students obtain their driver's licenses in the Loudoun, Fairfax, Prince William, and Fauquier areas.

We seek dedicated and experienced Driving Instructors licensed by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to join our team. As a Driving Instructor, you will play a critical role in educating new drivers on the skills and knowledge necessary for safe and responsible driving. You will provide private driving lessons and state-mandated behind-the-wheel training to diverse students, helping them become confident and capable drivers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Driving Lessons: Provide one-on-one behind-the-wheel instruction to students, ensuring they understand and practice safe driving techniques in accordance with Virginia traffic laws.
  • Assess Student Progress: Evaluate student performance during lessons, providing constructive feedback and adjusting lesson plans to address areas of improvement.
  • Prepare Students for DMV Exams: Ensure that students are fully prepared to pass both the written and practical driving tests required by the Virginia DMV.
  • Maintain Records: Accurately document student progress, lesson plans, and any incidents during instruction in compliance with Virginia DMV regulations.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure the instructional vehicle operates safely, conduct regular checks, and arrange necessary maintenance.
  • Compliance: Stay updated with Virginia driving laws and DMV regulations, ensuring all instruction complies with current standards.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to students and their families, answering questions and addressing concerns professionally.

Required Qualifications:

  • A valid Virginia DMV instructor license
  • Minimum of six years of driving experience with a clean driving record
  • In-depth understanding of Virginia traffic laws, road signs, and DMV regulations
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to explain concepts clearly and effectively
  • Ability to remain patient, calm, and supportive while working with nervous or inexperienced drivers
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate student schedules
  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a driving instructor or law enforcement officer
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • The ability to speak multiple languages
